Responsibilities
Take ownership of the discovery phase, leading efforts to gather and validate business requirements.
Proactively assess work completed to date and suggest improvements or corrections as necessary.
Act independently to guide large portions of the work with minimal supervision.
Analyze business processes and extract business rules from an existing legacy application to inform new application development.
Document business processes using BPMN and functional requirements using UML diagrams.
Utilize business rule mining techniques to extract workflows, rules, and logic embedded in legacy systems.
Identify inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, and validate functional and strategic needs.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to ensure alignment across teams.
Produce clear, precise, and comprehensive documentation, including: Business process models (AS-IS & TO-BE).
Functional and technical requirement documentation using industry-standard methodologies.
Supporting project documentation and communications.
Work closely with development teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
Ensure accurate interpretation of requirements through consistent communication and feedback loops.

Required
Extensive experience analyzing and documenting business processes using BPMN and functional requirements with UML.
Expertise in business rule mining techniques to derive insights from legacy systems.
Strong technical writing skills for creating clear and actionable documentation.
Ability to lead discovery phases and drive requirements gathering efforts independently.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and application modernization best practices.
Proven experience working with software development teams or as a business process expert in application building or support.
US Citizenship.
Eligibility to pass a Public Trust Clearance investigation.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred
Certifications in business process methodologies (e.g., BPMN, UML, Lean, Six Sigma).
Hands-on experience with requirements gathering and documentation for modernization projects.
