Responsibilities

Provide legal advice on cyber security and technology-related matters, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intellectual Property (IP).

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which Maximus operates.

Assist with managing cybersecurity incidents and relevant crisis management team activities

Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with cybersecurity and technology operations.

Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to manage these risks effectively.

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to technology procurement, software licensing, and service agreements.

Ensure that contracts comply with legal standards and protect the organization’s interests.

Monitor and analyze developments in the AI and cybersecurity legal environments, including but not limited to the AI legal environment in the United States (Federal and State), Canada, and United Kingdom and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 and other similar requirements.

Keep the business informed and compliant with current and emerging legal requirements.

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the bar in any state.

Extensive experience in cybersecurity and technology law.

Experience managing a software governance process and an AI governance process.

Proven track record of managing complex legal issues.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Strong collaborator with other functional areas, including but not limited to Procurement, Contracts, Litigation, Privacy, Information Security, and Information Technology.

Ability to stay updated with the latest developments in cybersecurity and technology law.

Preferred

Experience with litigation related to IP or cybersecurity a plus.
