Responsibilities
Oversees team of grant writers and strategy for full grant portfolio across TFA Southern regions to raise nearly $17 million dollars in revenue per year from private investment
Develops and manages grants calendars for assigned regions with direct responsibility for writing approximately 85 grant proposals and 85 grant reports annually for your assigned regions with varying degrees of complexity
Leads framework and process for developing regional annual cases for support creation for general operating proposals and reports
Leads grant writing and reporting for our public funding through AmeriCorps in Texas, and attend external calls with our state commission as needed
Designs and implements process for collaborating with regional team, PDM and Executive directors ensuring grants are regionally contextualized, up to date and high quality
Conducts external research on a consistent basis to stay abreast of new educational research and trends
Responsible for staying informed on TFA programming, top line goals, organizational changes, programmatic data etc.
Overseeing tracking and measurement for all grant related activities
Commits to internalizing mission and programs by participating in corps members and alumni activities across the continuum including but not limited to corps member selection or matriculation, alumni campaigns, pre-service, alumni induction and training to get thorough knowledge of mission and programs
As needed, attends external meetings with institutional donors with regional Heads of Development to strengthen proposal strategy
Project planning and collaborating with a team on institutional donor giving and stewardship strategy
Writing multiple proposals and reports, and ensuring Heads of Developments are reviewing drafts in a timely fashion to meet deadlines
Preparing Heads of Development with documents and instructions to submit grant deliverables as needed
Meeting with a team of grant writers to ensure work is progressing on time, problem-solving challenges, and supporting them in their development
Recording all submitted grant documents in Salesforce, and recording new reporting requirements as grants are awarded
Learning and sharing best practices in storytelling with our team

Required
You know the students and communities we serve and are passionate about realizing educational equity in the Southern United States.
You have expertise managing multiple projects at once and working collaboratively across multiple internal and external teams to achieve your vision and impact.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and are a self-starter who operates with minimal oversight.
Additionally you are detail oriented and excel at translating your passion for our mission into written communications strategies that compel diverse stakeholders.
5-10 years of fundraising, grant writing, or related experience
Experience communicating complex concepts to external audiences
Experience in Salesforce, Blackbaud, or other fundraising CRM system
Bachelor’s degree required
Willing to work occasional weekend or evening work hours required.
