Responsibilities
Works in collaboration with the Director of Communications to establish an impactful communications strategy that articulates CCA’s mission, initiatives, and programs and expands organizational visibility reaching a specific set of audiences including stakeholders, partners, and long term care workers.
Develops and maintains editorial calendar and social media calendar.
Develops, oversees, and refreshes content for CCA’s website and Intranet, ensuring consistent and timely high-quality messaging that is informative, accurate, and fosters storytelling of long-term care workers and consumers.
Monitors trends and issues in the community, region, and national landscape; evaluating and refining CCA’s communications plan and objectives based on trends and industry developments.
Manages all communications-related operations including coordination of the design, printing and distribution of communications materials that maximize cost efficiency and effectiveness.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with news outlets, community leaders, government agencies, and other influential stakeholders.
Supervises Communications Coordinator

Required
Bachelors’ degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Non-profit Management or related field; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum five years of experience in communications with a strong track record of executing successful strategic communications and creative marketing campaigns that utilize powerful storytelling techniques to build support and advance the organization's mission.
Demonstrated success in project management, particularly with the creative process.
Strong writing and design skills. Such as presentations, media releases, flyers, reports, newsletters, social media updates, and other collateral that will amplify CCA’s work and advance fundraising and partnership prospects. Familiarity and experience with Adobe InDesign and Canva (or similar software).
Experience creating and editing videos and using editing software.
Experience with outreach to news media.
Experience using website platforms such as WordPress and tools including Google Analytics.
Experience with email platforms like Mailchimp.
Exceptional research, writing, and presentation skills with proven ability to create targeted, persuasive, and inspiring communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills, experience with diverse audiences with the ability to exercise discretion in composing and delivering communications. Demonstrate compassion, competency, and professional accountability for interactions with consumers, stakeholders, colleagues, and others.
Ability to anticipate issues and use appropriate judgment to plan solutions and manage obstacles as they arise.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive and results-oriented with the capability to work collaboratively handling multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Exhibit collegiality and diplomacy within a team environment, display a good work ethic and a mature understanding of cultural diversity.
Proficient in MS Office applications, Google apps, familiar with database programs.
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends, as needed.
Commitment to the goals and mission of CCA.
Preferred
Master’s degree.
Bilingual a plus (in Spanish/English, Chinese/English, Korean/English, or Armenian/English).
Familiarity with the healthcare environment strongly preferred.
