Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact:
Between the outsourced mainframe provider’s system programming team (Kyndryl), Commonwealth management, and the COT team.
With software and hardware vendors.
For internal and external agencies responding to mainframe-related inquiries.
For application developers, assisting with system troubleshooting.
To coordinate system upgrades, maintenance, and changes.
Monitor and analyze system performance, identify root causes of issues, and recommend improvements.
Coordinate proposed changes with the MaaS provider and COT employees.
Communicate and manage system outages effectively.
Attend weekly meetings and participate in the Change Control Board (CCB).
Develop and implement operational standards and procedures for mainframe technical solutions.
Provide technical assistance to application developers and operations personnel.
Design, implement, and customize various mainframe technical solutions.
Assist in Workload Manager (WLM) tuning and Sysplex activities.
Support storage and backup technologies.
Interact with customers and deliver regular management reports and analyses.

Required
Minimum five years of experience in an MVS or z/OS IBM mainframe environment, with at least two years supporting system programmers and administrators.
In-depth experience with mainframe technologies, including: z/OS, MVS, Cobol, Assembler, system user exits.
CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, TSO, ISPF.
JES2, JCL, SMP/E, SMF, RMF.
BMC Tools, CA Tools, storage devices.
WebSphere, MQSeries, VTAM, RACF, TCP/IP, HCD, LPAR management, Workload Manager, and other z/OS subsystems.
OMVS and its components.
Demonstrated experience in storage technologies and administration.
Preferred
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience coordinating with third-party providers and multiple stakeholders.
