Responsibilities

Ensuring that regulatory HR compliance policies, practices, and procedures are monitored, implemented, and certified. Drafts, implements, and manages legal and compliance policies.
Regularly performing internal audits and spot checks to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
Providing legal advice and counseling on a broad range of legal issues that arise with a goal of enabling the company’s objectives while managing legal and compliance risk.
Recommending corporate policies and strategies that promote the company’s goals while complying with regulations.
Keeping informed of relevant legal developments and assessing their impact on organisational processes, and driving implementation of continuous improvements to legal and HR compliance function.
Collaborate with HR on employment law issues and handle employment litigation matters and claims. Works with HR to enhance our practices to minimize employment law risk. Manage legal disputes and litigation matters and implement liability avoidance initiatives. Advises on potential complex business transactions, such as acquisitions.
Train and educate HR, employees, and various functions on legal, compliance issues, and policies.
Review, edit, interpret, and advise on various types of contracts (commercial, sales, supply, non-disclosure) from a labor and employment lens.

Required

Juris Doctor degree from a nationally recognized law school
Licensed to practice law and active bar membership in good standing
At least 4 years of general labor and employment litigation experience, preferably with some in-house experience
Impeccable integrity and ethics
Ability to understand and analyse complex factual and legal issues. Good attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the big picture
Ability to prioritize with a risk-based approach and juggle numerous issues at once
Growth mindset with a can-do, problem-solving attitude and sense of intellectual curiosity
Highly responsive and service-oriented
