Responsibilities

Monitor and track legislative developments and regulatory changes affecting carbon pricing
Conduct in-depth research and analysis of carbon pricing policies, including cap-and-trade systems, low-carbon fuel standards and renewable portfolio standards
Evaluate the economic implications of different pricing mechanisms on businesses, industries, and consumers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of policy developments on carbon market pricing, renewable energy projects and jurisdictional emissions reduction goals
Prepare reports, presentations, and policy briefs to communicate findings and carbon policy developments
Engage with policymakers, industry associations, and advocacy groups to advocate for effective carbon pricing strategies
Generate breaking and feature news alerts on carbon policy initiatives and regulatory developments
Research and report on new developments in North American carbon policies and programs
Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis, and publish OPIS reports
Network and develop sources in the North America and Latin America carbon industry, including legislative and regulatory policymakers

Required

At least 3 years' experience in the policy analysis or environmental sectors
Experience analyzing and interpreting government and jurisdictional regulations
Experience synthesizing complex regulatory developments into accurate and easily understood content

Preferred

Knowledge of North American climate policies, carbon markets, and renewables
Bachelor's degree in environmental policy, economics, or a related field -OR- equivalent work experience
