Responsibilities

Keep track of all AAR rule and regulation changes/updates/new rules and advise customers of changes.

Attend the AAR Tank Car Meetings.

Gather reliability data from shops and or customers to provide for analysis.

Supervise repair shops/mobile crews to ensure cars are repaired according to AAR rules and regulations.

Review all repair estimates for cars in shop and provide approval or rejection – state reason for rejection.

Provide instructions to shops for inspection/repair/maintenance.

Assist with drafting maintenance manuals and shop procedures as needed.

Create ad-hoc reports.

Respond to all customer requests for information.

Manage all special projects for customers.

Required

10+ years of experience in railcar maintenance

5+ years of experience in railcar repairs/inspections

Hazmat Training

Knowledgeable of AAR Rules and Regulations

PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database

Problem solving and analytical skills

Initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision
