Responsibilities
Design and develop site-specific •multiple benefits• monitoring protocols, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures/SOPs.
Plan monitoring trips (including purchasing equipment, organizing travel, communicating with local partners and other IC staff, etc.).
Develop site-specific safety plans and processes to ensure safe fieldwork, adhering to organizational guidelines.
Secure permissions necessary for a project to proceed.
Establish and maintain relationships with partners instrumental to the development and implementation of a project.
Compile and analyze data collected, including data entry and quality control.
Assist with •multiple benefits• data processing; tag/annotate unstructured data such as large batches of camera trap imagery and use appropriate software/applications for analysis (•e.g.• EcoAssist, Timelapse).
Summarize results and report on findings as well as progress on deliverables.
Manage project expenditures.
Support the planning and implementation of human dimensions research.
Conduct pre- and post-intervention ecological surveys for an array of taxa (point counts, transects, productivity monitoring, nest counts •etc.•)
Deploy, maintain, and retrieve monitoring equipment (•i.e.•, song meters, camera traps).
Collect and process ecological samples accurately (•e.g.•, eDNA, stable isotopes); obtain permits; ship and track laboratory analysis.
Conduct pre- and post-intervention human dimensions research (•i.e.• interviews, questionnaires, etc.).
Collect, copy, and transfer robust, complete, accurate data and field notes post-deployment.
Lead/support in-field planning, logistics, and communication to ensure safe and effective time management for monitoring trips.
Manage and provide training and capacity-building for field teams comprised of operations staff, volunteers, interns, and/or local partners and community members.
Conduct other monitoring, mitigation, and island restoration-related field activities as needed.
Attend and engage in Impact team meetings and initiatives including regular check-ins with regional project managers, as appropriate.
Update the Impact team’s equipment inventory; lead or support the Impact team inventory tracking process improvement initiative.
Support the Impact team’s data management process improvement initiative.
Support the Human Dimensions Research and ecological sample lab analysis processes, as assigned.
Complete other tasks, as assigned.

Required
Experience in designing and developing site-specific monitoring protocols.
Ability to plan monitoring trips including purchasing equipment, organizing travel, and communicating with local partners.
Experience in developing site-specific safety plans and processes for fieldwork.
Ability to secure permissions necessary for project progression.
Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with partners.
Proficiency in compiling and analyzing data, including data entry and quality control.
