Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Provide expert advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Conduct thorough research on tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
Assist clients with responses to tax notices and audits, including representing them before tax authorities as applicable.
Analyze financial transactions and calculate tax implications for various transactions including sale of assets, sale of corporate stock and corporate liquidations.
Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive tax solutions.
Mentor and guide junior tax staff.

Required
Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
10-15 years of experience in tax preparation and advisory roles.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Strong understanding of transaction knowledge and basis calculation.
Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn new software.
Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail, ability to self-review and take direction.
Must have the ability to communicate with clients and coworkers via email and phone in a professional manner.
Willingness to learn and take responsibility for work product is essential.
Preferred
Experience in a public accounting firm.
Advanced degree in Taxation or related field.
Strong project management skills.
