Responsibilities
Providing expertise in reviewing and assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses
Attention to appropriate capture of risk codes based on provider documentation and evidence in the medical record
Performing duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards

Required
High School Graduate or GED
Certified Coder certification through AHIMA or AAPC
Minimum 6 months coding experience
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to learn and navigate quickly in Epic EHR
Skill in identifying and resolving problems
Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
Knowledge of coding policies and clinic operations
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
3 years risk adjustment coding experience
NLP technology experience
Prospective risk coding experience
Concurrent risk coding experience
Certified Risk Adjustment Coder Certification
