Responsibilities
Monitor, research, and report out on current, emerging and developing policy issues that may impact the datacenter and broader cloud computing industry
Provide strategic impact analyses, regulatory policy inputs and maintain a global policy and trends regulatory outlook supporting the Cloud ESG Planning teams' key deliverables
Stay abreast of emerging ESG policy trends and developments at the international level, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders
Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams
Establish and maintain meaningful relationships and deliver innovative projects with industry associations, industry peers, academia and NGOs
Drive long-term impact on the ESG efforts of the company

Required
5+ years experience in public policy and/or government relations, advocacy, risk management, or compliance work + OR equivalent experience.
Professional experience to identify, monitor, analyze, and communicate relevant regulatory policy trends, legislative proposals and issues of importance to senior executives.
Ability to influence with limited control, comfortable working through ambiguity, manage priorities independently and work across multiple time zones.
Industry experience at building support with stakeholders, collaborating with diverse, cross-sector stakeholder groups in particular, experience working with government affairs, public policy, legal counsel, trade associations, NGOs and/or academia.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred
7+ years' direct experience in a government affairs, public relations, public policy, trade association or legal team in a large technology company, government agency or NGO.
Deep understanding of public policy issues around the data center industry, data security, privacy, ESG and sustainability.
Proven network within the datacenter and cloud technology and services industry and beyond.
Data management and/or business analytics experience.
Analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and surface insights to make informed decisions.
Demonstrated track record of creating innovative approaches to adapting corporate processes and policies.
Demonstrated track record of impact on a global program with clear targets and milestones.
