Responsibilities

Build tools for benchmarking and load-testing of Metronome’s core components

Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and incidents across the stack

Identify and document the critical scale parameters of complex systems

Design new systems to withstand the test of continued growth

Write engineering specs for your proposals and review those written by others

Collaborate with your peers across Engineering on all of the above

Required

5+ years of work experience working on high scale/throughput systems

Familiarity with observability and benchmarking tools

Experience using a profiler and related tooling, bonus if it’s with Typescript/JavaScript

Experience debugging and optimizing database query performance

Experience finding bottlenecks in distributed, heterogeneous systems

Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and processes in a clear way
