Responsibilities
Verify physician applications for privileges and conduct thorough background checks
Ensure compliance with competency standards determined by medical department chiefs and regulatory bodies
Appoint and reappoint providers efficiently to enhance physician engagement
Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff regarding credentialing processes
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in credentialing

Required
Required experience credentialing physicians in a hospital setting
Associate degree in healthcare or business with at least one year of relevant experience, or three years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a highly relevant field
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
General understanding of CMS, Joint Commission, and Massachusetts State Regulations regarding credentialing
Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and excellent database navigation skills
Preferred
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification
Commitment to staying current on developments in the field through continuing education or professional organization participation
