Responsibilities
Write and optimize SAS code to extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets from various data sources (databases, spreadsheets, flat files).
Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing robust validation rules and checks.
Perform in-depth statistical analyses using SAS to provide insights and support business decisions.
Develop and automate custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using SAS reporting tools (e.g., SAS Visual Analytics, SAS/GRAPH).
Create predictive models, regression models, and data forecasting using SAS/STAT and SAS/ETS procedures.
Develop and maintain complex SAS programs using Base SAS, SAS/SQL, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, and SAS Macros.
Leverage SAS Macros to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance code efficiency.
Optimize existing SAS code to improve performance and scalability, especially when dealing with large datasets.
Automate data processing workflows and reports using SAS job scheduling tools (e.g., SAS Job Scheduler, CRON).
Ensure automated solutions are scalable, efficient, and robust for long-term use.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (business analysts, data scientists, project managers) to define requirements and deliver solutions.
Provide technical support and mentorship to other team members.
Document SAS programming processes, coding logic, and reporting workflows for consistency and reproducibility.
Perform quality checks on data and outputs to ensure that results are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business goals.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data processing, analysis, or code execution.

Required
SAS Certification: SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 (or higher certification) is required.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAS programming, data analysis, and reporting.
SAS Expertise: Proficiency in Base SAS, SAS/SQL, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, SAS Macros, and SAS/ACCESS.
Statistical & Analytical Skills: In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques using SAS tools.
Data Integration: Experience integrating SAS with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and flat file systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
Experience with SAS Visual Analytics and SAS Enterprise Guide.
Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.
Knowledge of additional programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
Experience working in industry-specific domains such as Healthcare, Finance, Retail, or Pharmaceuticals.
Experience with SAS/ACCESS for data extraction from external databases or cloud sources.
Familiarity with SAS-related tools such as SAS Viya or SAS Grid.
