Responsibilities

Manages and directs the activities of the Commercial Special Investigations Unit (SIU) operations and staff, develops operational policies and procedures, strategic planning, budgeting, and staffing.
This position has full management responsibility for recruiting, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and salary actions of direct and indirect reports.
Leads collaborations among commercial claim staff, the staff of mobility policy holders and other involved entities.
Owns communication on Mobilitas fraud-prevention efforts to internal executives, external executives for our policy holders and external industry executives.
Provides leadership and direction at highest operations level; responsible for developing strategic plans and develops tactical plans for area of accountability, including overseeing managers, supervisors, and staff.
Responsible for management and direction of the SIU section, to include setting required department and individual targets and goals in support of department strategy and ensures department goals and targets are met.
Monitors current trends and issues affecting department, works with other internal business units and establishes, maintains, and monitors relationships with external regulatory and government agencies.
Responsible for decision making in the review of complex and high exposure cases for authority.

Required

Expert knowledge and understanding of the handling of suspected fraudulent claims and the legal process associated with the litigation of SIU claims
Financial aptitude, to include effective management of budget planning and other fiduciary responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all lines of coverage, complex liability and damage issues
Ability to work with managers and executives at all levels in a professional manner
Effective problem-solving and decision making skills
Effective oral and written communication skills, to include the ability to conduct meetings and deliver formal presentations
Proven leadership and motivational skills and the ability to coach, mentor and evaluate a professional, virtual staff
Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience
State adjuster's license
Valid automobile operator’s license

Preferred

CPCU/AIC/CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation
2+ years commercial claim experience
2+ years litigation experience
5+ years of claims management experience
