Responsibilities
Proofreads a variety of accounts, dictation work types and specialties with urgency and accuracy across multiple transcription platforms
Recognizes inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medicolegal healthcare documentation and appropriately resolves, clarifies and/or reports as necessary or required
Utilizes an array of professional reference materials including those in electronic format. Proficient in referencing and researching
Understands the medicolegal implications and responsibilities of the healthcare records, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations along with security standards and privacy practices (e.g. confidentiality, security of patient care documentation, risk management, HIPAA)
Review transcribed/edited reports against the original dictation voice file, applying AHDI Book of Style, Rapid Care - US Style Guide and iMedX Quality Assurance Manual standards
Disclose any HIPAA violations found within the report to the compliance officer and direct supervisor
Transcribes and edits accurately with a 99% or better quality score
Pursues continuous enhancement of proofreading, transcription/editing and transcription technology skills
Foster a culture of customer service, quality and continuous improvement
May perform random review, through an automated or manual selection process, of real-time or previously transcribed reports per criteria, as requested
May provide timely results of the random review, along with consistent feedback to staff to eliminate repetition of errors and skill building
Using iMedX / Rapid Care’s preferred standard quality scoring criteria, may calculate and score reports consistently and fairly, weighing the varying degrees of errors against the documentation length. Maintain Excel spreadsheet containing random review information as required for random review process
Promote the Company’s values

Required
Excellent medical transcription and editing skills
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values
Ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictation styles
Ability to work across transcription platforms
Ability to determine the needs of each document on its own merit from a quality standpoint
