Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to municipal sign code changes to advocate ordinances that support growth and proper regulation. Includes research of municipal code and proposed changes, attending municipal planning sessions, public comment sessions, and hearings.
Build coalitions of business owners, trade and commerce associations, municipal staff, and elected officials through outreach, education, and lobbying efforts to influence the adoption of pro-sign regulations.
Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives.
Monitors and analyses proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends and prepares reports and informational documents to inform and support business leaders.
Other duties as assigned.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public policy, public administration, or equivalent
Five plus years of marketing experience; government relations; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities
Proven ability to work and interact successfully with government and other political appointees
Experience developing marketing and brand strategy in line with the strategic vision of the organization
Demonstrated experience and ability to develop and implement traditional and innovative communication strategies
Must have a proven track record of creating campaigns and initiatives that will drive and increase sales and revenue
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create and give presentations in front of employees and people from outside the organization
Well-developed and highly effective listening, oral and written communication skills
Proficient use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the Google Suite for email
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for YESCO’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team
Ability to travel as required
