Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain employment records related to recruitment, new hires, transfers, promotions.
Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
Prepares electronic new employee files.
Supporting Human Resources with tasks such as status changes, audits, projects, maintain employees files, information, and records.
Supports the recruitment and hiring process and follows up with applicants through various stages of the process.
Review applications/resumes; coordinates time frames for interview panel.
Coordinates pre-employment physical, drug screen, live scan, and background check for new hires.
Assist with the review of and respond to employment verifications, unemployment claims, and disability claims.
Perform a variety of general office support duties; make copies, maintain calendar activities, schedules meetings and appointments as related to the Human Resources Department.
Other duties as assigned.

Required

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 - 5 years direct human resources experience in leave of absence administration, employee relations, training, and development
Strong working knowledge of performance management, diversity, federal and state respective employment laws
Human resources generalist knowledge
Customer service
Effective time management skills
Communication proficiency
Problem solving/analysis
Federal and California state laws as they pertain to the workplace
Leave of absence and accommodation laws including the FMLA, PDL, CFRA and ADA regulations
Interpreting and applying administrative, departmental and programmatic policies
Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports
Plan, organize and complete work rapidly and efficiently
Customer service oriented: Establish rapport with staff, agencies, and clients from culturally diverse backgrounds
Ethically Focused: Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
Inclusive: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
Lead: Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization
Language skilled: Demonstrate verbal, reading and written fluency with English
Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and determine percentages
Computer literate: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, databases, internet
Possess a valid California Drivers License with a driving record that meets minimum standards established by CAP OC insurance carrier
Proof of vehicle insurance
Access to a vehicle and willingness to drive/travel when required
Ability to lift and/or move objects up to twenty (20) pounds
Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, Live Scan, and background check

Preferred

Bachelor's degree desired
SHRM certified (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) or HRCI certified (PHR/SPHR/PHRca) desired
