Responsibilities

Coaches are trained in the Quit for Life model and will assist participants in creating individualized action plans over the phone, Secure Messaging (emails), Chat, or text in making successful life changes with quitting tobacco and/or vaping products.
Coaches will spend 6-7 hours a day (completing about 2.5 calls per hour) on the phone talking, chatting, or texting with participants in the Quit for Life Program both inbound and outbound.
Adapt telephonic/chat coaching and education methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each client.
Coaches apply excellent active listening skills and demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Coaches demonstrate high attention to detail.
Demonstrate dependability and professional demeanor.
Demonstrate ability to manage various technologies.

Required

Basic level of proficiency in PC-based word processing and database documentation (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook) with the ability to navigate multiple applications, send emails, and perform data entry.
Prior work experience in direct behavior change education and/or behavior change services, coaching/counseling, chemical dependency counseling or health education.
Ability to demonstrate insight into human behavior and to communicate and interact with individuals at varying levels of skill and education preparation.
Willingness to teach, learn and be open to new and innovative ways of delivering prevention intervention services.
Coaches apply excellent active listening skills and demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Coaches demonstrate high attention to detail.
Demonstrate dependability and professional demeanor.
Demonstrate ability to manage various technologies.
Comfortable working an 8-hour shift with at least 1 weekend day; evening shifts to be covered.

Preferred

Undergraduate degree; preferably in health education, sociology, psychology, or related field.
Bilingual with English and Spanish.
