Data Science Intern
Moloco offers programmatic advertising solutions to help optimize the client's acquisition, retention, and monetization campaigns. As a Data Science Intern, you will drive performance improvement and cost efficiency in our product through a deep understanding of the ML and infra system, providing data-driven insights and scientific solutions.

Responsibilities
Work on and improve various components of our ad-tech stack including ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding and budget pacing. Conduct deep-dive analysis to influence R&D decisions and strategies: analyze a large dataset with queries and scripts, extract valuable signals out of noise, and produce actionable insights into how we could optimize Moloco’s complex bidding system
Design and deploy advanced optimization approaches to improve our ad-delivery: identifying the best ranking, retrieval and bidding strategies that strike the right balance between ROI and revenue trade-offs
Validating and quantifying the efficiency and performance gain from hypotheses through rigorous simulation and modeling
Developing a robust experiment design and metric framework, and providing reliable and unbiased insights for product and business decision making
Stay up-to-date with the latest researches and developments in experimentation and causal inference, and identify opportunities of applying these techniques to business challenges
Qualification
Required
Able and willing to work from our Redwood City, CA. office
Available to work during the summer of 2025 (May through September)
By the start of the internship, actively enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program in a technical or quantitative discipline, and returning back to the school program at the completion of the internship
Candidates pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree must be graduating and obtaining the degree by June of 2026
Preferred
Experience with SQL, Python and/or R coding languages
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while paying attention to detail and translate analysis results into business recommendations
Ability to work independently, owning projects end-to-end, solving problems without much guidance
