Payroll Specialist - Remote (MUST Be Proficient in Workday)

Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing, preparing, and producing accurate and timely payrolls for multiple clients, in multiple locations (states), based on state and federal regulations and company policies
Checking customers employees’ timesheets for accuracy
Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, commission, and severance
Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
Maintain confidentiality and security of all client files, payroll information, and employee PII
Analyze payroll results and other Human Resources reports to answer complex questions and recommend courses of action while exercising independent judgment and discretion
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from client and their employees
Process employee garnishments
Coordinate payroll general ledger processing with accounting
Prepare time and labor files
Input employee changes, maintain deductions, banking information, and employee maintenance items
Provide service support to employees, other departments, and management

Required
At least 5 years’ proven experience processing end-to-end payroll preferably in a medium to large organization
Prior experience working in a multi-client environment is required
Expert knowledge of Workday
In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices
Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Educated on compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and requirements
Excellent math and numerical skills
Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional certification a plus
