Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership of, and oversee, all financial management at CJA [65%]
• Ensure that CJA maintains consistent full compliance with all its legal, fiscal and audit requirements
• Lead long-term financial strategy and planning and deliver accurate and timely short-term budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Ensure effective ongoing financial management through developing and implementing strong fiscal systems, internal controls, and appropriate, values aligned investment policies
• Interface with other programs and integrate financial awareness and management across CJA staff and membership
• Develop and manage the Finance team budget, staff, and consultants
Inform organization-wide strategy and leadership: [25%]
• Contribute to building a strong Lateral Leadership (LL) team that holds responsibility for the overall health and success of the organization
Build Healthy & Sustainable Organizational Work Culture; participate in organization-wide, cross-team learning and partnership; and other responsibilities [10%]
• Along with all other staff, this position contributes to CJA’s culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning. They work diligently to collaborate and support each other within and across teams and excel in an environment where every member takes care of their own basic administrative needs

Required
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing finances and operations in a non-profit with an annual organizational budget of more than $10 million
Proven success building financial systems
Deep knowledge and practical experience in non-profit accounting, finance, and grants management
Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and proven experience working for and/or with grassroots organizations
Deep commitment to environmental, social, racial, and economic Justice and CJA’s mission
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to present financial information effectively to board, non-financial staff and community
Ability to handle diverse challenges with an orientation toward problem solving and innovation
Proven organizational, prioritization, and management skills
Excellent interpersonal and quantitative skills
High level of discretion and integrity
Preferred
Computer skills and experience using Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Basecamp, Gusto (payroll), Bill.com, Expensify, Ramp and Quickbooks Online
5-7 years experience supervising staff
An orientation towards learning and development; willing to learn from mistakes, receive feedback, and give feedback to others
Ability to manage and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with providing non-extractive loans through a non-profit structure
