Responsibilities
Developing and implementing quality assurance strategies and policies
Developing test plans (both new function testing and regression testing) to ensure robustness and performance of the technical solution
Collaborating with developers to develop solutions and improve software engineering processes.
Coordinating with additional development, implementation, and testing resources
Executing tests with appropriate techniques to identify bugs and defects
Reporting and managing the resolution of defects
Monitoring test progress and alerting of related issues and risks
Collaborate with project team members and manage assigned tasks using collaboration tools

Required
Five years of relevant job experience or advanced technical training or experience in health informatics
Must be able to work independently to fully develop and implement the QA process/framework for this project
Ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take initiative and lead technical teams to align to the QA requirements
A bachelor’s degree with a focus on IT information systems, engineering or similar discipline
Strong background in software development and quality assurance
Familiarity with data transport protocols such as SFTP, RESTful, and S3
Experience with HL7 standards, v2.x required (at least order, result and ADT messages)
Detail-oriented and excellent problem-solving abilities
Excellent client relations, presentation, organizational, writing, and communication skills
Self-directed, highly organized, and self-motivated
Team player with a commitment to the provision of quality customer service
Ability to communicate with a broad array of individuals from varying technical aptitudes, professional backgrounds and affiliations
Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and contribute to the broad range goals of delivering a technology solution
Preferred
Experience within a health lab environment
Experience working with Federal agencies, public health agencies or laboratories, or especially with any public health surveillance systems
Experience working with healthcare or EHR systems
Familiarity with JIRA, Smartsheet and/or Confluence
