Responsibilities

Foster a reliable compliance culture and environment for the Claims Department
Participate in development and review of a comprehensive claim handling quality assurance framework, including documentation of current policies, processes and procedures
Ensure compliance with laws and regulatory requirements, promoting the organization's commitment to compliance
Assess risks, identify potential areas of claim handling vulnerability, and partner with stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation strategies
Design and deploy assessment tools to measure claim handling compliance and need for compliance coaching
Direct and manage the quality assurance process, including any needed requirements gathering and partnering with stakeholders on any necessary change management efforts
Oversee all aspects of the claim handling quality assurance process
Advise on claim handling quality assurance requirements
Develop, track and report quality assurance deficiencies and metrics
Remain abreast of current trends in quality assurance for claim handling
Process and manage claim handling quality assurance as needed
Develop and manage Claims onboarding session for the quality assurance function
Oversee management of claim handling quality assurance
Deliver Claims Compliance Training as required
Manage workload, prioritize, and elevate issues where appropriate with little direction.
Develop internal relationships to strengthen transparency and approachability with business partners.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team including appropriate task assignments, effective training and development, appropriate performance management, and ensure that team resources are efficiently utilized to achieve operational objectives.
Ensure effective communication with team members and management.
Lead and participate in special projects.
Travel to other claims offices and conferences, as required.

Required

Bachelor’s degree or post-grad work in compliance or related field
8+ years of related experience; preferably in P&C insurance and/or Claims
Experience with P&C insurance compliance or legal frameworks
Commitment to continuous learning and thirst for knowledge
Exceptional time management, organization skills, leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of curiosity and creativity
Flexibility and attention to details
Self-starting initiative with a bias toward action and strong sense of personal accountability for results
Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skill set that includes a collaborative approach
Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external partners
Strong presentation and public speaking skills and potential for executive presence
Hands on, advanced knowledge of presentation software, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, Project/Planner and other MS Office Products and applications
Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers
