Responsibilities
Develop Vision and Strategy: Craft and execute the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap to align with Headspace’s business objectives.
Drive High-Level Architecture and Design: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our systems through sound architectural principles and design practices.
Hire and Retain Top Talent: Build, lead, retain and inspire a world-class engineering organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Foster a Culture of Excellence: Build a world-class engineering organization that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Accelerate Time-to-Market: Partner closely with product, design, and data teams to develop innovative and impactful solutions that drive user engagement and satisfaction.
Champion User-Centric Development: Advocate for the end-user by prioritizing usability, accessibility, and seamless experiences in every product.

Required
Proven success as a senior engineering leader, with 15+ years of progressive experience, including 8 years or more leading large engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale initiatives with a focus on speed and agility without compromising quality.
A track record of building and scaling consumer-facing products that deliver exceptional user experiences.
Deep expertise in modern engineering practices, including cloud infrastructure, microservices, and scalable system design.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing, inclusive teams.
Champion experimentation and creativity, ensuring Headspace continues to push boundaries in technology and user experience to improve mental health through technology.
Preferred
Masters degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
Experience in leading Engineering teams in a fast growth startup environment
Experience in healthcare and/or the delivery of digital health solutions
