Responsibilities

Maintain VTAM & TCPIP subsystems in a z/OS 2.4 and JES2 software environment.
Install, test, and integrate software using IBM SMP/E product, including migrations.
Implement and verify backup and recovery procedures, including Business Recovery.
Monitor system software access, performance, and resource utilization.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on software management systems and deployment strategies.
Liaise between application programmers and vendors to report and resolve software issues.
Develop and modify technical documentation to support operations and training.
Lead and mentor staff on VTAM & TCPIP software management, implementation, and maintenance.
Provide 24/7 on-call software support, including emergency off-hours assistance.
Serve as the Mainframe Team Lead for contract reviews and Disaster Recovery processes.

Required

20+ years of experience with mainframe software management, specifically VTAM & TCPIP subsystems.
Strong experience in software management, including design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Expertise in disaster recovery best practices and IBM system utilities (e.g., SMP/E & IEBCOPY).
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of IP routing, IP subnet structures, FTPS, SFTP, SSL/TLS Traces, and other networking protocols.
Experience with TSO, ISPF, SDSF, IPTRACE, and RACF commands.
Familiarity with z/OS, CICS, JES2, DB2, and DR processes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience with Assembler, REXX, and CLISTs programming.

Preferred

Working knowledge of DB2, DR, and contract management.
Experience with z/OS UNIX environments and mainframe job control (JCL).
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
