Manager/Supervisor - Substation Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers in the execution of substation projects.
Ensure team adherence to industry standards, utility requirements, and project deadlines.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Oversee the design and review of Protection & Control (P&C) systems, including relay settings, SCADA integration, and coordination studies.
Supervise the physical design of substations, including layouts, equipment selection, grounding, and lightning protection.
Provide technical expertise and ensure the accuracy of engineering deliverables.
Plan, schedule, and manage substation engineering projects to meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to address project needs and resolve issues.
Ensure compliance with utility specifications, local regulations, and industry standards such as IEEE and NESC.
Act as the primary point of contact for utility clients, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to business development efforts.
Develop and enforce quality assurance processes to deliver high-caliber engineering work.
Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance team capabilities and efficiency.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related field); from EAC/ABET accredited
8–10 years of experience in substation engineering, with a focus on utilities.
Strong expertise in Protection & Control or physical design.
3-7 years of managing and leading engineering teams.
Proficient in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar platforms.
Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred or willingness to obtain.
