Responsibilities
Ensure the organization remains true to its mission and vision.
Approve and monitor the implementation of strategic plans and budgets.
Oversee financial performance and ensure responsible fiscal stewardship.
Evaluate the performance of the Founder and staff.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Participate actively in fundraising activities and campaigns.
Identify and cultivate potential donors and sponsors.
Make a personal financial contribution to the organization.
Represent the organization to stakeholders, including the community, partners, and donors.
Advocate for the organization’s mission and programs.
Participate in events and activities to promote the organization.
Attend and participate in all board meetings and committees as assigned.
Engage in ongoing board development and training.
Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new board members.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan.
Monitor progress and provide feedback on the strategic direction and goals.

Required
Familiarity and knowledge of legal issues pertaining to global operating nonprofits.
Understanding of health or medical manufacturing and supply chain management.
Ideally lived experience or significant experience operating in the environments best served by products like the Dream Warmer™.
Experience with nonprofit related finance including tax compliance requirements, fundraising pathways, accounting standards, blended finance for nonprofits, etc.
Experience in scaling a start-up.
Commitment to the mission and values of GNS.
Ability to work collaboratively and constructively within a team and virtually.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Previous board experience (preferred but not required).
