Responsibilities
Drive sales and business development - creating strategic, high value market opportunities, with responsibility for identifying, pursuing and winning new business.
Along with the Chief Commercial Officer and other Utility’s business development leaders, build and develop successful relationships with customers and strategic partners to drive projects, collaborations, and new opportunities.
Become an intrinsic voice of the hydrogen industry, driving adoption of Utility’s technology not just with customers, but with partners, peers and governmental bodies.
Report latest industry trends and needs and where necessary lead the change within Utility necessary to take advantage of key insights and learnings.
Secure strategic deals and structure highly profitable transactions that protect, promote, and enable the company’s best interests.
Evaluate market opportunities and understand market dynamics to prioritize deployments by industry and geography.
Develop a go-to-market and growth strategy model, coordinating closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and broader business development team.
Actively contribute to the leadership of the business, supporting the development and implementation of the business strategy and operating plan, offering commercial insight to aid decision making.
Bring multiple executed contracts to fruition near-term with strategic repeat customers.

Required
Must be able to travel frequently on behalf of the company – this will involve some travel on weekends and after normal business hours
15+ years experience in a combination of technical and commercial roles
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and attend meetings, both on a face-to-face basis and via Teams or other electronic mediums from different time zones
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively communicate needs and expectations to the organization and relay customer feedback
Possess the ability to participate in tasks important to Utility’s future not directly associated with the Business Development function
Proven, ambitious commercial leader with a background focused in the energy sector, preferably hydrogen in mobility, steel, glass, electronics, refining, or petrochemical industries.
Strong executive leadership presence and the ability to interact and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
Entrepreneurial and passionate about bringing technology solutions to market and ensuring their commercial viability and success.
Highly commercially astute with an innate ability to identify value enhancing opportunities, with a demonstrated passion for decarbonization.
Expertise in negotiating complex multi-party commercial agreements and securing eternal funding for multi-million-dollar projects.
Skilled technical communicator with the ability to engage partners and customers and convey complex technical topics clearly
Preferred
Previous experience and network in sourcing biogas from landfills, wastewater treatment plants, dairy farms, and similar is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technology field, in addition to an MBA is preferred.
