Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure

Optimize data storage and retrieval systems for performance and reliability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions

Implement best practices for data governance, security, and quality

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction

Required

Extensive experience with Java, including proficiency in: Spring Framework, Identifying and debugging issues like memory leaks and garbage collection pauses

Strong data modelling skills

Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven systems: Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or similar distributed ledgers

Familiarity with message queues and pub/sub protocols (e.g., SQS, SNS)

Experience in relational and NoSQL databases: Familiarity with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL solutions (e.g., Cassandra), Ability to explain database strengths and trade-offs

Preferred

Knowledge of analytical database platforms: Experience with Clickhouse/TinyBird or ability to explain systems like Apache Pinot

Understanding of when to use analytical databases vs. relational or NoSQL solutions

Python proficiency for Airflow or batch jobs

AWS suite expertise: Ability to build data pipelines using Lambda + SQS

Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes: Capability to build infrastructure for projects using Terraform, Kubernetes troubleshooting and management skills

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
