Responsibilities
Develop and manage CRDs to extend Istio's functionality for GKE-based applications.
Create OpenAPI v3 schemas to validate custom resources.
Implement Kubernetes Operators to automate workflows.
Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and integrate GitOps practices.
Troubleshoot and optimize GKE environments, ensuring service mesh performance.
Oversee more junior level resources and provide quality assurance on the work of team members.
Works directly with senior stakeholders to manage project expectations and provide delivery updates.

Required
Experienced in working extensively with Kubernetes and GKE.
Strong knowledge of Istio (e.g., Envoy, VirtualService, DestinationRule).
Proficiency with OpenAPI v3, Helm, and Kubernetes resource validation.
Experience with Go or Python for developing custom controllers.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Operators (Kubebuilder, Operator SDK).
Familiarity with GitOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms like GCP.
