Responsibilities
Develop and execute a global strategy for application engineering that aligns with Mastercam’s business goals and customer needs.
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure alignment on technical support, training, and service delivery.
Identify and implement best practices for delivering consistent, high-quality application engineering services worldwide.
Lead organizational and process changes to adapt to evolving market demands and internal strategic priorities.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of application engineers and technical specialists.
Provide strategic direction, set clear goals, and evaluate team performance against KPIs.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture within the team and across regions.
Implement a talent development framework to upskill team members in line with evolving industry standards.
Develop succession plans to ensure leadership continuity and talent pipeline growth.
Act as the escalation point for high-priority or complex customer challenges, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders to understand their technical requirements and objectives.
Collaborate with technical support, sales, and product teams to deliver tailored solutions that address customer needs.
Contribute to pre-sales and post-sales technical enablement, including customer demonstrations and pilot programs.
Lead the team in identifying opportunities to improve customer workflows and deliver industry-leading solutions using Mastercam products.
Research industry trends, competitive solutions, and emerging technologies, educating the team to maintain Mastercam’s market leadership.
Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and digital twins to enhance Mastercam’s offerings.
Drive the development of advanced tools, templates, and resources to streamline application engineering processes across the team.
Actively contribute to Mastercam’s thought leadership by representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and technical forums.
Partner with product management and development teams to provide feedback on product usability, performance, and customer requirements.
Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to ensure consistent messaging and technical alignment for product launches and customer demonstrations.
Collaborate with training teams to design and deliver effective learning programs for customers and internal staff.
Monitor, review and improve global application engineering operations, ensuring efficient operations that incorporate new technologies and cutting-edge solutions grounded in proven delivery and consistency of outcome.
Analyze performance metrics and generate reports to measure customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and team productivity.
Develop action plans to address gaps in performance and improve service delivery.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience, advanced degree or professional certification in CAD/CAM, manufacturing, or leadership is a plus.
8+ years of experience in application engineering, technical support, or related roles, with three or more years of proven management experience.
Proven track record of managing global or cross-functional teams.
Expertise in Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software applications.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC programming, and machining technologies.
Proficiency with project management tools, productivity solutions, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Microsoft 365).
Preferred

Strategic thinker with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive innovation.
Strong analytical skills to assess performance data and drive continuous improvement.
A team player who fosters collaboration across departments to achieve organizational goals.
Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time to engage with teams and customers.
Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and digital twins, is a plus.
