Responsibilities
Develop and execute a playbook to make targeted, systematic outreach to surface relevant industry innovations.
Work with key community and government stakeholders to clarify high priority needs and build specific investment thesis/strategies.
Conduct in-depth research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in the health and wellness sector.
Systematically source and evaluate innovative health companies through direct outreach, desk research, networking events and industry reports. Summarize each company’s target patient population, service delivery model, value proposition, key feature set, health outcomes and performance metrics. Determine alignment with stakeholder strategic needs/thesis (e.g. VA Program Offices).
Build relationships with startups, accelerators, and industry stakeholders to create a robust innovation pilot pipeline. Set clear expectations with target companies about potential innovation pilot opportunities within VA.
Analyze business models, competitive positioning, and market potential of target companies to determine their value proposition and alignment with VA priorities.
Develop and maintain a database of target companies. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Required
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of experience with venture capital, management consulting, investment banking or product management in the healthcare sector.
Familiarity with healthcare systems, digital health, biotech, or medical devices.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of innovative health care technology and service companies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft office tools, especially PowerPoint.
Self-motivated while also being a great team player.
Preferred
Experience working in a startup environment strongly preferred.
