Responsibilities

Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the commercial aspects of our products and programs

Draft and negotiate contracts

Interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise on same

Educate business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy and other considerations

Facilitate the timely closure of business transactions while minimizing risk exposure

Review marketing materials and provide guidance on product requirements

Identify and mitigate risks and liabilities

Advise business teams in a variety of domestic and international locations

Provide legal support for other departments and initiatives as required

All other duties as identified

Required

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar

At least 6 years of relevant legal experience. In-house experience a plus, ideally in the technology industry

High degree of professional ethics and integrity

Experience in leading contract negotiations

Ability to drive cross-functional projects

Strong business acumen and practical approach to legal challenges

Experience advising clients and managing projects on deadlines with minimal supervision

Experience collaborating with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, etc.) to ensure business needs are met

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal points and concepts to a diverse array of internal stakeholders

Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies and associated legal issues

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Strong proofreading skills

Ability to juggle many competing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment

Excels at working independently and as part of a team

Willingness to learn and take on matters outside your primary practice areas

Preferred

In-house experience a plus, ideally in the technology industry
