Responsibilities
Directing and administering the Professional Accounts Receivable operations, programs and activities of the Central Business Office (CBO)
Providing guidance, leadership, and direction to all of those who are involved or responsible for obtaining accurate and timely insurance benefit verification and authorization
Timely billing and collection of accounts receivables in order to achieve targeted KPIs and exceed cash collection goals
Mentoring and coaching to produce optimum work habits and achieve the highest level of competency of leadership and staff
Managing components of the Revenue Cycle for multiple entities
Establishing relationships at all facilities and being familiar with each institution's computer environment and payer contracts

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
Comprehensive understanding of departmental procedures and the Revenue Cycle, with emphasis on professional billing practices
Strong PB Professional EPIC knowledge
Knowledge of third-party billing and collection processes
Knowledge of accounting principles
Knowledge of operations and patient flow to identify and analyze potential sources of errors or patient dissatisfaction
Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Federal compliance and OIG initiatives that impact the healthcare industry
Knowledge of technology alternatives applicable to the patient accounting environment – i.e., optical imaging, call center processing, collector workstation, etc.
Generalized understanding of networking infrastructure issues that impact the organization
In-depth knowledge of system applications related to the hospital revenue cycle including knowledge of the key master files and transaction flow
Understanding of medical terminology
Knowledge of standard PC word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with subordinates, co-workers, hospital staff, patients, and payer representatives
Proven analytical ability and organizational skills necessary to organize/assess information and provide timely recommendations based on data analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support interaction and participation in meetings with patients, physicians, payer representatives, MHA, and representatives of other departments
Leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support to work group and promote employees
Managerial abilities necessary to motivate and control the activities of a large production unit
Synthesize large data sets and summarize for large and diverse audiences
Strong customer service skills and a customer-centered approach to leadership
Preferred
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or Information Management
CRCE/CMPA/CHFP certification
Leadership role in industry organizations such as HFMA, AAHAM, or MHA strongly encouraged
