Responsibilities

Serves as a project manager and reports directly to a branch chief within the Transportation Division.
Performs a wide range of duties on a variety of park projects and national initiatives related to landscape architecture and/or civil engineering.
Serves as the primary point of contact with parks, regions, and program centers and works collaboratively with the public and stakeholders.
Has primary responsibility for the successful completion and execution of projects. Coordinates with design professionals and subject matter experts to translate the client's needs

Required

U.S. Citizenship required.
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
You will be required to complete a one-year trial period.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
Basic Requirement for Engineer, GS-0801: Possess a degree in professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. You must provide transcripts.
Basic Requirement Landscape Architect, GS-0807: Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in landscape architecture or landscape design. You must provide transcripts.
Minimum Qualifications: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes ALL of the following: (1) Applying the principles and techniques of landscape architecture and civil site engineering to transportation related planning, design, and construction projects; (2) Mastery of, skill in applying advanced theories, concepts, practices, standards, and methods of project management specific to site design and construction sufficient to serve as a recognized authority; (3) Applying budget/financial processes related to how projects are initiated, funded, staffed, scheduled, controlled, and adjusted.
