Responsibilities
Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
Review the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
Prepare required tax filings and other reporting.
Coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider.
Respond to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting.
Ensure payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and systems (e.g. accounting and management information systems) to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Set up state accounts in collaboration with the payroll provider.
Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
3-5 years of related experience as a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Specialist, or in similar roles.
Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with payroll software and management information systems.
Experience with Paycom.
Must be authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
