Responsibilities

Reconcile monthly bank accounts.
Prepare complex account reconciliations, analyses, and journal entries.
Reconcile revenue-related transactions, including deferred and earned revenue for membership, education, sponsorships, and advertising.
Perform analytical reviews during the monthly close process.
Analyze financial information and compile reports.
Support monthly and year-end financial close with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
Calculate, invoice, and record inter-entity billings and fee revenue.
Research and document accounting issues based on relevant GAAP pronouncements.
Maintain and improve documentation of internal accounting controls.
Prepare annual audit schedules and coordinate with auditors.
Ensure compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.
Assist in preparing the annual corporate budget and related analysis.
Prepare federal and state filings, including Form 990s and quarterly estimates.
Provide financial assistance and ad-hoc support as needed.
Participate in meetings, sharing accounting and internal control insights.
Provide additional support to team members when required.

Required

Over 5 years of relevant work experience in a non-profit setting
Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Demonstrates exceptional accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and active listening abilities
Superior time management and project management skills
Discreet in handling sensitive and confidential information
Upholds a professional demeanor and promotes an optimistic approach

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Familiarity with Sage and Intacct Accounting solutions
