Responsibilities

Interpret demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.

Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results

Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated customer assumptions

Interact with sales, material planning, asset management and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers

Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts

Use the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool. Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning

Using analytic visualization tools, conducts analysis to determine if there are service or performance enhancements required to evolving engagements or existing supply chain engagements and present analysis and recommendations to requestors and management

Requires in-depth knowledge and experience

Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions

Works independently; receives minimal guidance

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement

Contributes to process improvements

Typically resolves problems using existing solutions

Provides informal guidance to junior staff

Works with minimal guidance

Required

Typically requires 5–7 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 3 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience in supply chain, planning and operations functions within supply chain

Analytical

Someone who is a self-motivated go-getter is required

Driven by a continuous improvement mindset

Familiarity with manufacturing business model (Bills of material, production planning, etc)

Familiarity with distribution business model

Possess a core understanding of demand planning
