Responsibilities

Lead the Security Engineering team, providing mentorship, direction, and fostering a collaborative environment to drive performance and growth.

Design and implement robust security architectures, processes, and tools to protect Life360’s systems, applications, and data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and IT, to integrate security best practices into development lifecycles and operational workflows.

Develop and execute security strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals and evolving threats.

Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, and managing incident response plans to address security events.

Required

8+ years experience in security engineering and people management

Extensive Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing security engineering teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of security architectures, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern development practices.

Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, including experience with threat modeling and incident response planning.

Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST.

Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work cross-functionally, effectively communicate complex technical concepts, and align security objectives with business goals.

Proactive Problem-Solving: A track record of implementing innovative security solutions and staying ahead of evolving threats.

Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
