Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring the organization is on the right financial path.
Identify potential risks, such as funding volatility or economic downturns, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Manage and streamline payment systems, including QuickBooks, 1099 compliance, and various payment options (e.g., Stripe, credit cards, PayPal).
Leverage fintech tools to optimize financial workflows, automate processes, and improve efficiency.
Supervise a team of finance professionals, including tax specialists and data analysts; build and expand the team as needed.
Collaborate with board members to align financial strategies with organizational priorities and develop the budget for each financial year.
Monitor key financial metrics and provide regular updates to the board on performance and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure accounting is in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (G.A.A.P), governmental accounting, and contract agreements on funding and expenditures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and maintain ethical standards in all financial practices.
Utilize predictive analytics and data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making.

Required
Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with 1099 reporting requirements.
Strong understanding of payment systems integration and optimization (e.g., Stripe, credit cards, PayPal).
Proven ability to mentor teams and build high-performing finance functions.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Extensive experience in compliance and risk management.
Ability to commit 15–20 hours per month to this volunteer role.
Preferred
Understanding of the art and literature industry is preferable.
Knowledge of fintech solutions and predictive analytics tools for financial planning.
