Responsibilities

Design and develop AI/LLM systems to automate and enhance the collection and analysis of:
County and municipal government structures and processes
Local permitting requirements and procedures
Key decision-maker and stakeholder identification and mapping
Community institution analysis (economic development, agriculture, education, safety)
Local business and employer profiles
Land use patterns and regulations
Local media landscape and community discourse
Electoral and political dynamics
Create efficient workflows to integrate AI-powered research tools with existing processes
Train and support research teams in utilizing new AI tools
Ensure data quality and accuracy in automated research processes
Develop validation frameworks for AI-generated research outputs
Collaborate with subject matter experts to refine and improve system accuracy

Required

5+ years experience in AI/LLM implementation and development
3+ years of experience with natural language processing and information extraction
Demonstrated expertise in prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning
Strong background in data integration and ETL processes
Experience with Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks
Proven track record of implementing AI solutions in research environments
Must have valid business insurance and be authorized to work in the US
Programming: Python, SQL, API integration
AI/ML: LangChain, HuggingFace, OpenAI API, or similar
Data Analysis: Pandas, NumPy, visualization tools
Database Management: PostgreSQL or similar
Version Control: Git
Experience with public records databases and government data sources
Familiarity with GIS tools and spatial data analysis
Strong project management capabilities
Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical teams
Problem-solving mindset
Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Detail-oriented with strong quality control instincts
Experience working independently as a consultant
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures

Preferred

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
Experience with local government research and analysis
Understanding of county and municipal government structures
Background in stakeholder analysis or community engagement
Experience with GIS and demographic analysis tools
Knowledge of public records and local government database systems
Familiarity with local permitting processes and zoning regulations
