Responsibilities

Provides expert advice to management on position management/classification issues.

Researches and prepares PDs and evaluations for a wide range of positions, including one-of-a kind positions and positions where classification standards do not recognize the technological changes that have occurred, and recommends the appropriate title, series, and grade(s). In cases where the requested title/series/grade are not justified, prepares a classification advisory outlining the issues with the request and, where appropriate, recommendations that could achieve the desired outcome

As required, prepares documents such as FLSA assessments, SES justifications, and other documents.

Uses questionnaires, employee and supervisory interviews, and other materials to conduct desk audits.

As requested, reviews organizational restructuring and reorganization plans and provides advice on any position management/classification issues noted.

Collaborates with management to develop PD

As required, attends meetings, typically using Microsoft Teams

Remains up-to-date on any contractor or DOS-required training.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Expert knowledge of the full range of position classification/management principles, guides, and policies in order to provide expert operational and advisory support to management on the full range of issues.

Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to prepare PDs, evaluations, and other documents; interact effectively with management and staff; and tactfully explain and defend recommendations.
