Responsibilities

Create opportunity and project set-up in accounting system

Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders

Negotiate/procure project related expenses with vendors

Authorize time and expense posting to project accounts

Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts

Review and approve supplier/subcontractor invoices related to projects

Review and approve time sheets for work related to projects

Review and approve overhead charges to be applied to projects

Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management

Confer with Corporate receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings and reconciliation of variances that occur in the application of cash

Report on project profitability to management

Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings

Report to management regarding the remaining budget available for projects and comparisons of actuals versus budget

Create and/or approve all project-related billings to clients

Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers

Maintain monthly work-in-progress reports, ensuring accurate estimates to complete

Respond to requests for more detail from customers regarding project-related billings and expenses

With the approval of the VP/Engineering Manager, approve the write-off of any project-related billings that cannot be billed to or collected from clients

Close out project accounts upon project completion

Manage sales and use tax accounts related to projects

Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
