Responsibilities

Analyze and resolve claim edits involving coding, modifiers, and billing discrepancies.

Ensure the accuracy of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes by reviewing medical records and validating modifier use and claim sequencing.

Identify recurring trends and errors in coding, such as incorrect diagnosis codes or misuse of modifiers, and implement corrective actions.

Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and payer-specific policies to optimize reimbursement.

Support revenue cycle improvements by ensuring accurate claim submissions, reducing denials, and enhancing coding compliance.

Provide direct feedback to providers and charge entry staff to improve coding accuracy and compliance.

Assist in training charge entry staff and providers on coding best practices and documentation standards.

Conduct regular audits of claims and charges to identify errors and mitigate compliance risks.

Develop and implement corrective action plans to address and prevent coding deficiencies.

Perform coding validation for OB-GYN and urogynecology procedures using EMR software.

Collaborate with the offshore team to resolve issues in zero-dollar claim reviews.

Provide coding support for production tasks when needed, though this is not the primary focus.

Required

Must live in the United States

Must have Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification through AAPC

Extensive experience in OBGYN

Proficiency in coding review edits and identifying root causes of claim errors

Comfortable working in a review-focused capacity, with occasional training responsibilities

Familiarity with EMR softwares and revenue cycle processes

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct coding inaccuracies

Preferred

COBGC certification is a plus.

Urogynecology coding experience is a bonus.
