Responsibilities

Participate in regularly scheduled calls with personnel from the affiliated agencies, HDI departmental representatives and the company’s reinsurers to keep everyone current and to solve problems as they arise.

Assist in completing state data calls when needed.

Review reinsurance agreements and work with HDI’s General Counsel to finalize them.

Keep Program Administrator Agreements, Third Party Administrator Agreements and Program Underwriting Guidelines current by working with the administrators, the TPA’s, and our General Counsel to get addenda worded and signed as needed.

Re-direct mail pertaining to the affiliated agency business to the appropriate agency and follow up for responses from the general agency when they are called for.

Participate with the company’s reinsurers in underwriting audits at the affiliated agencies’ offices.

Evaluate opportunities to write new program business and prepare presentations for management round tables on those that are promising. Work with all departments in HDI as well as the general agency and TPA to implement the new program.

Required

10+ years Property and Casualty Underwriting Experience

Commercial P&C primary underwriting experience

Good communication skills, including the ability to work with personnel from all agency and company disciplines such as accounting, statistical reporting, IT, claims, legal, underwriting, and loss prevention.
