Responsibilities

Accurately review patient demographics and insurance information.

Verify insurance coverage and benefits for telehealth services.

Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers.

Research and resolve denied claims, including appealing denials and negotiating with insurance companies.

Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.

Maintain accurate records of all claims processing activities.

Identify and report any potential billing or coding issues.

Stay current on all relevant coding and billing regulations and guidelines (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).

Create and implement audits and other compliance activities as needed.

Act as primary contact for outsourced billing company.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department.

Prepare and submit EDI enrollment with clearinghouse when necessary.
