Responsibilities

Install, configure, and manage Hadoop clusters

Monitor cluster health, job performance, and resource utilization, proactively identifying issues.

Perform regular backup and recovery tasks for critical Hadoop data.

Troubleshoot and resolve cluster-related issues to minimize downtime.

Perform version upgrades and patches for Cloudera tools and services.

Utilize Cloudera Manager for monitoring, alerting, and managing Hadoop jobs.

Coordinate with developers to deploy and monitor big data applications on Cloudera.

Set up and maintain Tableau Server for business intelligence reporting.

Troubleshoot Tableau performance issues and optimize the reporting process.

Provide Tableau report development support for business users.

Work with data engineers to ensure seamless data ingestion and processing pipelines within Hadoop.

Collaborate with teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity across different platforms.

Support ETL workflows and manage large-scale data transformations for reporting.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

4+ years of experience managing Hadoop environments (Cloudera preferred).

Experience with Cloudera Manager, Cloudera Navigator, and Tableau Server.

Experience with MSSQL databases.

Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.

Proficient in Hadoop cluster administration.

Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, etc.) for Hadoop systems.

Good understanding of Hadoop security mechanisms (Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

Certifications in Cloudera or Hadoop administration.

Experience with Data Science/Advanced Analytics tools.

Familiarity with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) for Hadoop deployments.

Understanding of Agile methodologies for project management.
