Responsibilities

Facilitate the centralized credentialing verification program with accuracy and attention to detail.

Enter provider information into credentialing software and other programs as needed.

Process initial credentialing and recredentialing applications, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Maintain reports of credentialing activities, including accreditation, membership, and facility privileges.

Stay updated on changes to credentialing guidelines and ensure all records are accurate and ready for review.

Communicate frequently with medical staff services, administrators, and practitioners to resolve credentialing concerns.

Keep the Medical Staff Services Director informed of any issues or concerns related to credentialing.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required

Experience in the medical field in an administrative or support role.

Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Intermediate proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe, and OneNote.

Ability to learn and adapt to sophisticated database programs.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through frequent interruptions.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) or similar credentialing certifications such as Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM).

Knowledge of TJC, NCQA standards, and state and federal credentialing requirements.
